Oneida Health is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospital Emergency Department (ER) team. This position is responsible for coordinating patient care and delivering nursing services that demand specialized judgment and skills. As an RN in the ER, you will supervise LPNs and support nursing staff while reporting to a supervisory-level nursing position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, maintaining composure in high-pressure situations. Key Responsibilities: Identify patients' needs and provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department. Supervise and coordinate the activities of LPNs and other support nursing staff under your direction. Maintain accurate and organized patient records and prepare reports promptly as required. Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients and staff, adhering to quality standards and infection control protocols. Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members. Exhibit a customer service-oriented approach when interacting with patients and their families, ensuring their comfort and addressing their concerns. Utilize superb organizational skills to manage supplies and equipment efficiently, ensuring availability and readiness for patient care. Remain calm, composed, and professional during crisis and emergent situations, providing effective nursing care under pressure. Proficiently navigate electronic records management systems and utilize computer skills for documentation and communication. Education: Associate of Nursing (Required), Bachelor’s of Nursing (Preferred). License and Certifications: New York RN License (Required). BLS Certification (Preferred). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred, with specific experience in an Emergency Department setting being advantageous. Oneida Health is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work 8:00am - 4:30pm at our Oneida Health Family Care office. The LPN in the Practice Setting is responsible for providing high quality care to patients to assure exceptional patient care experiences both safely and efficiently. *Hourly range: $23-$29.21/hour commensurate with experience Essential Job Responsibilities: Rooms patients, obtains and documents chief compliant, vital signs, height, weight, allergies and reconciles medications. Ensures results of referrals are available on chart. Assists provider (MD, PA, and NP) with procedures and examinations. Ensures appropriate documents are signed by all parties. Attends to needs of patients and visitors. Reassures patients and answer questions as necessary. Follows procedure for authorized medication administration and documentation. Performs treatments and procedures as directed, which are within the individual’s scope and training including administering injectable medications. Assures patients are seen in an orderly and fair manner, and that delays and waiting times are communicated to other members of the team as well as patients. Acutely ill patients are given priority at all times. Maintains medical record including ensuring all related reports, labs and information is filed/scanned and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment Completes routine equipment checks and stocks supplies in all exam and treatment rooms. Places orders as necessary from Central Supply and Pharmacy. Participates in routine exam room cleaning. Facilitates and executes physician orders in conjunction with patient needs and insurance requirements, scheduling exams and tests as appropriate and preparing necessary prescriptions and/or instructions for use by other allied health professionals in a timely manner. Coordinates and schedules referrals/surgeries with other physician specialists as well as Imaging and other medical tests. Ensures appropriate follow-up is arranged for patients. When necessary, acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties, and discusses insurance claims with insurance companies in an effort pre-certify and/or meet pre-authorization restrictions. In the event of an anaphylactic reaction or Code Blue is able to assist provider (MD PA, or NP) with resuscitation and CPR if needed. Ensures Code procedure is followed and documented appropriately.
