Job Summary and Qualifications At Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, our PAT Registered Nurses ensure that appropriate portions of Outpatient and Inpatient nursing assessments of the patient are completed, standard of care initiated and all necessary consent forms signed. In addition to showing courtesy, compassion, and respect to all individuals, you will also exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. Current RN VA license or has a compact multistate license. Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Required 1 year of emergency room experience.
