Position Title: Director of Nursing (DON) Schedules Available: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 40 hour/week; exempt position Director of Nursing (DON) Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, performing, coordinating and evaluating the activities of resident care on a 24 hour seven day a week basis. Director of Nursing (DON) Requirements/Qualifications: o Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising. Turning and repositioning bedridden patients. Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences. Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities. Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff. Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff. Accompanies patients to their rooms. Assists physicians and registered nurses. Communicates with patients and their families. Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler. Prepares specimens for lab courier. Administers medications. Provides wound care.
