HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT In this role you will assist in providing nursing care to the practice patients; help maintain the functions of a medical group practice; provide direct patient care by doing lab work and venipuncture; readying patients for exams; assisting providers with exams and procedures, and administering injections and treatments as orders. Coordinates patient calls/walk-ins in emergent situations. Assists in other functions of the medical group practice as needed. Tasks performed are in compliance with department and policies and procedures, and within educational preparation. Develops and promotes surgical technology and practice standards, within and outside the operating and procedural rooms. Assumes additional duties of an assistant service line leader for one or more surgical specialties. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) developing new procedures and/or instrumentation training; mentoring and supporting new staff members as a preceptor; providing leadership in problem solving within a collaborative team framework; and actively participating in unit quality assurance, lean, and best practice initiatives. Works in partnership with the service line team, RN/Assistant Nurse Manager or RN/Nurse Manager, surgeon, materials management, and preference card coordinator to ensure preference cards are accurate and up-to-date; an orientation/developmental plan is provided to develop competent colleagues; and that efficiency efforts are in place to meet departmental goals and expectations.
