Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant - LCHC Administration

NURSE PRACTITIONER DESCRIPTION: The  Nurse Practitioner has special knowledge and skills in health maintenance, disease prevention, psychosocial physical assessment and management of health-illness needs in the specialty listed or primary care of the family. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited program of nursing. Must have successfully completed additional theoretical and clinical education through an accredited graduate level family nurse practitioner program.   REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Must maintain current Oklahoma licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). Must maintain current certification as a family nurse practitioner through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a family nurse practitioner is preferred but not required.  PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT DEFINITION: The Physician Assistant is a health care professional, qualified by academic and clinical education, and licensed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, who provides health care services in a variety of patient care settings under the direction and supervision of a physician. Patients cared for are infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of a physician assistant program approved by the American Medical Association. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Must be a licensed as a P.A. by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of one (1) year practical experience in a primary care setting.     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a family nurse practitioner is preferred but not limited required.

Position Overview The Clinical Trials Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate/Assistant (PA)- is an integrated member of the Clinical Research Care team within our outpatient oncology practice/research site. This role supports the clinical execution of oncology clinical trials, helping advance innovative cancer research and expand patient access to clinical trial opportunities across a diverse network of care settings. It is the expectation that the APP operate work collaboratively with investigators, research staff, and multidisciplinary care teams to support patient screening, informed consent, enrollment, treatment, safety monitoring, and ongoing clinical trial care, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and Good Clinical Practice. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive, protocol‑driven clinical care to patients participating in oncology clinical trials. Perform prescreening assessments using protocol‑defined criteria, EMR review, and available clinical data to identify and prioritize potential clinical trial candidates in collaboration with investigators and research staff. Conduct patient screening and collaborate with investigators to confirm eligibility based on protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria. Obtain informed consent, ensuring patient comprehension and voluntary participation in accordance with regulatory and IRB/IEC requirements. Perform clinical assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and prescribe medications (including investigational agents, as permitted). Monitor and manage adverse events, ensuring appropriate documentation and timely reporting. Educate patients and families regarding clinical trial participation, procedures, risks, benefits, and follow‑up care. Document clinical findings and trial‑related activities in the EMR and applicable research systems. Participate in study initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and inspections. Serve as a clinical liaison between investigators, research coordinators, sponsors, and clinical departments. Support multiple concurrent clinical trials while maintaining protocol compliance and patient safety. Qualifications Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program RN State License and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state, along with current state certification of Nurse Practitioner or current state license as a Physician Assistant Current BLS and CPR/ACLS certification preferred DEA and NPI registration (as applicable) Two years post Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience in oncology clinical trials preferred Familiarity with IRB/IEC processes and GCP Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced research environment Proficiency with EMR systems and standard office software Must be willing to travel to the various practice locations PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
