Position Summary:

Position Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be willing to take call.
  • Our OR nurses do Pre-OP and Post-OP.
  • The RN will need to Circulate Surgery’s and do Endoscopy.
  • We have 1 OR room, 1 Endoscopy, 1 Section Room, 5 Bed Pre-Op hold and a 2 Bed Recovery Room.
  • Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution.
  • Minimum experience preferred 2 years recent OR experience.
  • Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Current BLS & ACLS, preferred to have PALS.

Public Health Registered Nurse Case Manager - Well Child/Immunization

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) Public Health Case Manager oversees comprehensive case management for individuals requiring public health care, including well-child checkups, immunizations, tuberculosis and other infectious disease screening and diagnostic testing, management of chronic health conditions, and infectious disease case investigations. The role entails training Community Health Aides and Practitioners (CHA/Ps) to competently administer public health testing, examinations, immunizations, and assist with screening, diagnostic testing, treatment, and case investigation as needed. Responsibilities of the position includes participating in the design, execution, monitoring, quality assurance, and assessment of the Well Child/Immunization and other public health programs. This includes identifying areas of improvement and proposing effective strategies to enhance program performance. The incumbent is expected to travel to various villages to render services and provide on-site instruction, and supports CHA/Ps in conducting examinations, assisting with testing, and administering immunizations, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols. The Case Manager provides education on topics related to immunizations, chronic care, preventive health examinations, and diagnostic and surveillance testing, and is required to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, ensuring the information presented is understood and applied appropriately. Additionally, the Case Manager assists in providing instruction during Health Aide Training and at Continuing Medical Education (CME) events for CHA/Ps and other clinical staff. Other duties include coordinating with other health care providers, maintaining accurate records of patient interactions, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring patients' health needs are met effectively. The Case Manager must stay updated with the latest public health knowledge and developments, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and overall program effectiveness. Minimum Education: Diploma, Associate of Applied Science, or Associate’s Degree in Nursing for RN required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
