Your responsibilities will include:

Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Previous Scrub Tech experience in IR or OR required

The Surgical Assistant will function as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, repair of pathology, and wound closure throughout the perioperative period on procedures for which privileges have been granted. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited surgical assistant program or certification from an accredited Board Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Expert Knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique Certification from an accredited surgical first assistant program Essential Functions: Maintains Patient privacy and confidentiality. Acts as a patient advocate Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for selected surgical patients in collaboration with peri-operative team members. Adheres to the Universal Protocol Policy by completing and participates in surgical time outs. Protects the patient from injury caused by improper positioning, chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, thermal sources, and extraneous objects.
