Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements): 3-5 years nursing experience. Oncology certification preferred. Demonstrates ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. Clearly documents in chart facts and concepts about the patient. Documentation is completed within shift; meets standards, policies and procedures. Communicates effectively and thoroughly the patient’s condition upon transfer to all staff involved in patients’ care. Notifies physician of any abnormal lab/test results. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Education/Certification/Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Maintain current State RN licensure. Requires a minimum of one year of Perioperative (PeriOp) experience or direct experience working with ophthalmic patients. Current ACLS or must obtain within 90 days of employment, then must maintain ACLS certification.
