About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric / Mental Health RN to join our Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will support residents with psychiatric needs, collaborate with our behavioral health providers, and ensure high-quality, person-centered mental health care.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and monitor residents’ mood, behavior, cognition, and psychiatric symptoms
Administer psychiatric medications and treatments
Report changes and collaborate with psychiatrists, NPs, and counselors
Assist with crisis management and de-escalation
Support care plan development and documentation in the EHR
Educate staff, residents, and families on mental health and coping strategies
Participate in GDR meetings and interdisciplinary care conferences
Ensure follow-up on psychiatric consults and coordinate referrals
Respond to behavioral emergencies following protocol

Requirements

Active RN license (NY)
Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing (required)
LTC/SNF or behavioral health experience preferred
Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills
Knowledge of psychopharmacology and behavioral interventions
