Perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and injections per Clinician or Physician order. Initiate, monitor and discharge IV per Clinician and/or Physician order. Perform Rh testing and interpret results. Perform pregnancy testing. Receive patient from OR, including via wheelchair or gurney and transfer to chair appropriately. Upon patient admission to the recovery room, immediately check and record vital signs, skin color, skin temperature and general condition of patient. Assess patient prior to discharge from the recovery room and document all findings. Consult provider or Physician when necessary. Assess surgical site of vasectomy patients upon admission to and discharge from the recovery room. Assess vaginal bleeding of abortion patients per PPLA Medical Standards & Guidelines (MS&G). Assess uterine tone of advanced gestation abortion patients per protocol. Administer Microgram or Rhogam to abortion patients as ordered by the Physician and/or Clinician. Administer medication as ordered by the Physician and/or Clinician. Employ appropriate aseptic technique when handling contaminated articles or surfaces.
