Job Summary:

As the RN Unit Manager/Infection Preventionist, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a nursing unit while also managing the facility's infection prevention and control program. You will lead a team of nursing professionals, coordinate resident care, and implement best practices in infection prevention to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and staff.

 

RN Unit Manager/Infection Preventionist Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, within the unit.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents and update care plans as necessary.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including infection control standards.
  • Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular infection surveillance, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive resident care.
  • Address and resolve any resident or family concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

 

RN Unit Manager/Infection Preventionist Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
