In addition to supporting the community as a Level III Trauma Center, the ED has taken proactive steps to provide safe care to our psychiatric population through the implementation of a 6-bed secured intradepartmental unit.

About the Job:

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Inpatient Psych Registered Nurse cares for patients ranging from all ages with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. The Psych RN specializes in assessing, intervening and stabilizing patients in situations that require critical clinical decision-making skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess and implements priority-based nursing care and establish goals to meet the patient’s needs.
  • Integrate patient values, best practice, and evidence into patient care.
  • Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery.
  • Function competently within own scope of practice.
  • Utilize a communication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/or the situation.
  • Delegate care activities to patient care team.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to provide the patient with comprehensive care.

Who You Are:

  • Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN / BSN required)
  • 1-2 years experience in mental health preferred

In this role as a Full Time Registered Nurse Lead Preceptor, you will train, coach and mentor newly hired RNS and LPNs. This exciting new role will work one-on-one with our nurses to ensure our clinicians are delivering exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients living in their homes throughout northeast Massachusetts. In this role, you will also maintain a small caseload of patients. Previous Medicare Certified Home Health and OASIS documentation experience is required. You will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides skilled nursing and rehabilitative care to clients, affording them the opportunity to remain at home.
