Nurse Intern Position Summary 

The nurse internship is a 10-week program designed to strengthen student nurses’ clinical skills and confidence. Nurse interns will be partnered with seasoned preceptors to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients while utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, interns will provide routine direct patient care, participate in educational activities, and gain understanding of nursing delegation and leadership. Care given will encompass the biophysical, psychosocial, cultural, self-care, learning, and continuing care needs of the patients as appropriate to age and diagnosis.   

Nurse Intern Position Requirements  

  • Must be a current nursing student going into their senior year of nursing school (B.S.N. program), RN year (A.D.N. students).
  • Must have current Maryland State Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) certification
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR

With 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period.
