JOB SUMMARY

The Physician provides direct clinical treatment services to patients, ensuring that patients receive the treatment necessary to treat their medical complaint. The Physician works constructively and collaboratively with other health professionals and focuses on attaining high standards of healthcare within their specialty.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health-NP Required Must have a nationally recognized certification to practice. Current Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance License required. Current Connecticut State RN/APRN Licensure. 2-3 years experience in clinical setting providing direct patient care required. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in the history and physical exam in order to establish a diagnosis. Ability to assess severity of patient’s illness and establish need/time for patient's evaluation. Ability to plan and care for patient’s identified problem including medication, diet, therapeutic procedures, etc. Ability to consult with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines. Ability to form therapeutic relationships with patients. Demonstrate appropriate communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to maintain positive relationship with physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel.
