Description

The Nurse Practitioner will:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of behavioral health interventions in a hospital setting to individuals and groups where applicable.
  • Provide behavioral health consultation to all collaborating providers, including but not limited to primary care providers, emergency room providers, care coordinators, nursing staff, hospitalists and fellow behavioral health providers.
  • Provide documentation and accurate information in the Electronic Medical Records system.
  • Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary behavioral team, with set responsibilities.
  • Participate in case reviews and clinical supervision.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in psychiatry from an accredited school of nursing
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Vermont Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Psychiatry
  • New Hampshire APRN in Psychiatry (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $75.00 per hour. The hourly rate reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.

Job Details Good Samaritan University Hospital recently broke ground on its Patient Care Pavilion. This 300,000 square foot addition will be located on the northeast portion of the campus and feature a 75-bay Emergency Department, 16 high-tech replacement operating rooms and three floors of private patient rooms. TRAUMA SURGERY SERVICE Rotating schedule with AM and PM shifts JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides emergency surgery/trauma call coverage, including assessment, surgery if needed, consultation, rounding and follow-up of patients. Fosters teamwork and communication among all internal and external constituencies. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides in-house services as scheduled by the Medical Director or designee. Serves as the attending physician for his/her own patients in the SICU and serves as a consultant when requested. Assists the attending and/or consultant physician in the management of patients in the SICU. In emergent situations in the SICU, when the physician is not the attending or consultant, evaluates and stabilizes patients until an attending or consultant physician can be contacted and/or arrives. Directs the management of such patient until such time as the attending or consultant physician arrives to assume responsibility to direct care. The attending or consultant physician may delegate responsibility to the physician, allowing him/her to continue to direct care for specific patients in the SICU. Evaluates patients in the Medical Center for potential admission to the SICU. Evaluates hospitalized patients who have become unstable and are considered for transfer to the SICU. Responds immediately to assist in the care of critically ill patients anywhere in the Medical Center as requested by an attending or consultant physician.
