Responsibilities

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  • Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  • BSN degree
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Correctional healthcare experience. Clinical educator or preceptor experience. Leadership or charge nurse background. Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP). Physical & Work Requirements Ability to respond rapidly to emergencies, stand and walk throughout the facility, assist patients as required, meet security clearance requirements, and work in a correctional environment. The ability to lift and carry medical equipment up to 50lbs. Must be able to able to push and pull medical carts, and equipment as needed.
