Medical Assistant (MA):
- Gathers, screens, communicates and acts based on delegation from a provider, registered nurse or Licensed Practical nurse as per scope of practice.
- Performs a combination of clerical and direct patient care duties.
- Greets patients, answers telephones, schedules appointments, and updates patients electronic medical record (EMR).
- Rooms patients, takes medical histories, performs and records vital signs, prepares exam rooms for procedures, explains treatment procedures to patients, prepares patients for examination, facilitates patient flow through the office, and assisting the Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant during examinations.

Experience
- Blood Draw Experience
Certification and Licensure
- BLS Certification
- Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Medical Assistant Certification other than those listed requires THMG Leadership Approval.
