In addition to supporting the community as a Level III Trauma Center, the ED has taken proactive steps to provide safe care to our psychiatric population through the implementation of a 6-bed secured intradepartmental unit.

About the Job:

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Inpatient Psych Registered Nurse cares for patients ranging from all ages with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. The Psych RN specializes in assessing, intervening and stabilizing patients in situations that require critical clinical decision-making skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess and implements priority-based nursing care and establish goals to meet the patient’s needs.
  • Integrate patient values, best practice, and evidence into patient care.
  • Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery.
  • Function competently within own scope of practice.
  • Utilize a communication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/or the situation.
  • Delegate care activities to patient care team.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to provide the patient with comprehensive care.

Who You Are:

  • Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN / BSN required)
  • 1-2 years experience in mental health preferred

Vacation Cash-Out Option 3 Paid Personal Days 11 Paid Holidays Accrued Paid Sick Time Responsibilities Assess and coordinate healthcare services for individuals in accordance with DDS and agency standards Communicate medical concerns and updates to relevant SHCS staff, including managers and directors Accompany and transport individuals to medical appointments as needed Oversee medical supports and maintain accurate documentation in TIER Ensure compliance with Medication Administration Program (MAP) protocols and reporting Provide in-service training to residential staff on medical topics and support needs Collaborate with healthcare providers to secure appropriate treatment and follow-up care Supervise assigned nursing staff (e.g., LPNs) and report concerns to the Health Care Director Uphold participant dignity, rights, and confidentiality in all care and communication Maintain compliance with all regulatory documentation and reporting requirements Foster a respectful, supportive, and collaborative team environment Perform additional duties as assigned by the Health Care Director Qualifications Education & Experience: Registered Nurse with current MA license. One year working in a residential setting with disabled adults or Home Care experience. Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication skills.
