Cary Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Acute Care Unit.

In this role, you’ll manage incoming information via telephone, call bell, and direct conversation — ensuring communication flows smoothly and patients receive timely attention. You’ll also assist with up-staffing and down-staffing for the current and incoming shifts in collaboration with the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and Nurse Manager, and perform CNA functions as needed.

Essential Job Duties:


CNA Duties include but not limited to:

  • Promotes patient safety and abides by the patient fall risk program and completes fall risk rounding at least twice per shift.
  • Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal findings to patient’s nurse.
  • Performs daily weights and reports abnormal findings to patient’s nurse.
  • Appropriately documents ADLs, ambulation, intake and output, vital signs, weights, safety rounding, and any other patient care activities performed throughout shift.
  • Ensures that patients have fresh water, while appropriately observing patients with NPO status or fluid restrictions.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living along with providing them with supplies.
  • Assists in ambulating patient according to physician order.

Requirements

  • Must have an active valid CNA certificate in Maine.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Obtains BLS certification within 1 year of hire into this position and maintains current certification thereafter.


Schedule:

  • Shift: 7a-7p
  • With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
