Position Summary

\$30K Commitment Bonus 

Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.

Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Transfer Center

Position Summary The Transfer Center Registered Nurse (TCRN) is responsible for the coordination of patient transfers to ECUHMC, to an appropriate ECU Health Community Hospital or to a Non-ECU Health Hospital. The TCRN collaborates with the Patient Placement Facilitator, Patient Placement Coordinators and the Communications Center Specialist, and acts as a clinical resource and facilitator for all interfacility transfers. The TCRN utilizes computer technology to facilitate multi-faceted communications and applies nursing knowledge derived from education and experience as foundation for transfer facilitation, communication, and documentation. In addition to the basic responsibilities per RN job description, the TCRN facilitates all regional referrals, the TCRN may facilitate transfers, admissions, bed requests from inpatient, outpatient, clinics, pre-admits, and for cardiovascular and medical/surgical services. Responsibilities Coordinates and facilitates all admission/bed requests from inpatient/outpatient/clinics/pre-admits/regional referrals for cardiovascular services. Follows established algorithms, protocols, guidelines and procedures for how to accept and process admission request information. Works collaboratively with Regional referring contacts, physicians, clinicians, EastCare, all CV inpatient and outpatient units, Admissions, ED and Patient Care Facilitators to accept, document specifics, arrange transfer/transport arrangements and process admission information. Responsible for alerting all parties involved when triaging and capacity is reaching critical levels. Responds to and manages multiple phones and facsimile lines. Demonstrates broad spectrum of knowledge and clinical competence related to assessing the patient transfer and placement needs including those associated with invasive and noninvasive procedures, surgeries, STEMIs and Code Strokes. Minimum Requirements ADN required BSN preferred RN license required. American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
