We are seeking compassionate registered nurses and licensed practical nurses for school-based assignments, providing specialized care to students with a variety of medical needs. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in educational settings and are passionate about pediatric care.
Your role will include either working 1:1 with medically fragile students—administering tube feedings and medications—or supporting a classroom setting with students who have multiple disabilities, including responsibilities such as medication management, nebulizer treatments, and tube feedings. Opportunities are available in the Elmira area for both program and 1:1 nursing assignments over the summer session.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active New York State LPN or RN license required
- Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or related settings preferred
- Comfortable administering medications, tube feedings, and nebulizer treatments
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to providing compassionate care for children with complex medical needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group health care support during school hours
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with educational teams and update care plans as needed
- Respond promptly to emergency health situations following established protocols
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
