Registered Nurse School Setting - Painted Post, NY

Make a positive impact this summer by supporting students as a licensed nurse in an educational setting near Painted Post, NY. Contract opportunities are open for experienced LPNs and RNs who thrive in school environments and are passionate about providing personalized, compassionate care.

Ideal candidates hold an active NY LPN or RN license and have experience delivering essential medical services within a school or pediatric setting. Key assignments will include working one-on-one with medically fragile students, supporting multiple disabled classrooms, and administering medications, tube feedings, and nebulizer treatments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active NY State LPN or RN license (required)
  • Experience working with medically fragile or special needs children preferred
  • Strong assessment and clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing needs in a dynamic school setting
  • Empathetic approach when working with children, parents, and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing for students, including administration of medications and tube feedings
  • Deliver care for multiple disabled classrooms, including medication administration and respiratory treatments
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate care plans with educators and guardians
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies and advocate for student well-being
  • Ensure a safe, supportive environment that meets all nursing and school guidelines

The available roles include:

  • LPNs for 1:1 support of medically fragile students
  • RNs/LPNs as Program Nurses in classrooms, including the BOCES Bush Campus and Diven Elementary locations in Elmira, NY
  • Summer schedule with consistent hours
