This position leads nursing staff who provide medical care and treatment to individuals in a correctional environment. The role supports daily operations and ensures consistent, high quality services. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Staff Leadership: Guide, support, and oversee nursing staff during clinical and administrative tasks
• Care Oversight: Monitor nursing care plans, assessments, treatments, and medication administration to ensure quality service
• Operational Coordination: Manage schedules, shift coverage, and reporting to maintain steady operations and communication
• Record Management: Review, update, and maintain electronic health records and prepare reports as needed
• Supply Maintenance: Monitor and restock treatment supplies and ensure proper sterilization of equipment
• Emergency Response: Provide assessments and immediate medical care during urgent situations

Work Hours and Additional Information: 

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Work hours during training will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • Work hours after training will be 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime as needed
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $100,523.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

• You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
