Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Salary: Up to $60.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our skilled nursing team in Nassau County, NY. This role is ideal for a clinically strong nurse who is passionate about wound management, improving resident outcomes, and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess residents admitted with existing wounds or those who develop wounds during their stay

  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans

  • Lead and participate in weekly wound rounds, including wound measurements and detailed documentation

  • Complete and maintain weekly wound tracking reports and promptly report non-healing wounds to physicians

  • Track, analyze, and distribute weekly decubitus ulcer statistics

  • Provide in-service education and training to nursing staff on wound care best practices

  • Prepare quarterly Quality Assurance (QA) reports to support regulatory compliance

  • Observe and evaluate dressing changes to ensure staff competency and adherence to protocols

  • Educate residents and families on wound care management when appropriate

  • Attend ongoing wound care in-services and continuing education to stay current with best practices and industry standards

Requirements

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years of experience

  • Infection Control Certification (preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing home or long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of wound care protocols, documentation, and regulatory standards
