Qualifications of the RN Cart Nurse - Nursing Home:

•    Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license 
•    CPR/BLS certification required
•    Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience
•    Strong assessment, documentation, and time management skills
•    Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

 

Responsibilities of the RN Cart Nurse - Nursing Home:

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies

  • Perform routine and focused nursing assessments

  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly

  • Document care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record

  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

  • Respond promptly to resident emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility standards

  • Participate in shift reports and care planning as needed

  • Maintain accurate narcotic counts and medication cart security
