Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Summary:

Northwood Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an exceptional Assistant Director of Nursing to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and leading our nursing staff to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of our nursing department, ensuring effective communication and coordination among staff members

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols

  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, including mentorship, coaching, and training

  • Conduct regular assessments of patient care and make recommendations for improvements

  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, visitors, and other healthcare professionals

Requirements:

  • License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio

  • Prior years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff members

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians to ensure optimal care is provided. • Rules and Regulations: Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors. • Operations: Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings. • Chart Review: Complete chart reviews, if needed based upon after-hours needs, to support patient care and regulatory compliance.
