Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at Axiom Healthcare of Mount Vernon. As a key member of our leadership team, you will assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of our Nursing Department. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department
• Ensure that all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions and provide guidance and support as needed
• Develop and periodically update nursing service objectives and statements of philosophy
• Assist in developing and implementing a nursing organization structure and make written and oral recommendations to the Director as necessary
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
• Monitor the facility's QI, QM, and survey reports and provide recommendations to the Director to eliminate problem areas

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university
• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility
• Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be a supportive team member and contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept
