Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for wound care to join our skilled nursing team. The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and prevention of pressure injuries, wounds, and skin conditions, ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida RN license (required)
  • Wound care certification (WCC, WOCN, or similar) preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of wound care experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of infection control and pressure injury prevention
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide and oversee wound treatments, including dressing changes and advanced therapies
  • Monitor healing progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Educate staff, residents, and families on wound prevention and care
  • Lead and support facility-wide skin and wound programs
  • Maintain compliance with Florida regulations and CMS guidelines
