Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Risk Manager

A leading Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Risk Manager to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about quality care, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
Position Overview
The ADON / Risk Manager supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations while leading the facility’s risk management and quality assurance programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, minimizing risk, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership (ADON Duties):
- Assist in the daily management of nursing operations and staff oversight
- Support staffing coordination, scheduling, and clinical workflow efficiency
- Provide supervision, guidance, and evaluation of nursing personnel
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- Participate in survey readiness and regulatory inspections
Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
- Lead the facility’s risk management program, including incident/accident investigations
- Track, trend, and analyze incidents to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to reduce risk exposure
- Oversee Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents and compliance matters
- Educate staff on risk prevention strategies and best practices
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Prior experience in risk management, QA, or compliance strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations, including survey processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary up to $130,000 annually (based on experience)
