Hiring Now Certified Nurse Assistant Inpatient FT, Days (3 - 12 Hour Shifts) Overall Responsibility: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, RN, performs delegated tasks and procedures of patient care, involving the physical, psychological, social, emotional, safety and security needs of the patient according to the patient plan of care. Key tasks and responsibilities Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities including obtaining vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, blood drain management, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living and maintains patient rooms are orderly. Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to direct nursing staff utilizing appropriate lines of authority and in a timely and effective manner. Document necessary records in Electronic Health Record Uses correct body mechanics in moving patients. Uses budgeted supplies and equipment judiciously. Models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values by assisting in keeping and being a positive attitude within unit and between departments. Presents self in a professional manner, including tone of voice, eye contact and body language that models KSSH vision/mission/values. Treats all patients equally in accordance with Patient Rights and acts on their behalf as the patient advocate. Prefer orthopedic, neurological or critical care experience. Environmental and physical requirements: The employee works in a temperature-controlled environment. Employees should be able to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting technique several times during their shift. Job requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist. Job risks include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, and exposure to infectious disease. Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills.
