Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current LPN or LVN license required for practice in the region
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly valued
- Strong observational and communication abilities
- Comfortable working both independently and as an integral part of a team
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to students’ health needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in a classroom setting focused primarily on teaching assistant (TA) duties
- Accompany and support students to inclusion classes throughout the school day
- Assist, as needed, in a designated room providing health-related care to students with specific needs, including tube feeds, seizure precautions, medication administration, and aspiration monitoring at meal times
- Be available to cover other locations when nurse coverage is required
- Foster a caring, supportive environment for students’ educational and care goals
