Overview of the DON Position
A well-established skilled nursing facility in Elizabethtown, PA is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. This role is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities for the DON Position

  • Direct, plan, and supervise all nursing services within the facility
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and nursing department budgets
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes
  • Maintain strong survey readiness and clinical excellence

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey processes
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive team culture
