Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 annually (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and coordination of the nursing department. In this role, you will oversee all nursing operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and accountability.

Working closely with the Administrator and Medical Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring survey readiness, improving quality outcomes, and supporting the professional development of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing services and clinical operations

  • Ensure continuous survey readiness in accordance with NJ DOH and CMS regulations

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing nursing staff

  • Establish and maintain clinical competencies, training programs, and performance standards

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction

  • Oversee infection control, risk management, and QA/QAPI initiatives

  • Develop and manage staffing plans, scheduling, and departmental budgets

  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork

  • Serve as a visible and approachable clinical leader within the facility

Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey RN License in good standing

  • BSN preferred (ADN with strong leadership experience will be considered)

  • Minimum 2+ years of leadership experience as a DON, ADON, or Nurse Manager in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting

  • Demonstrated success with state surveys and regulatory compliance

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to build and support a high-performing clinical team

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing Currently registered in New Jersey, by state examination and experienced in supervision and teaching. Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner. 3. Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident. 4. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity & ability to work effectively with resident, family members, personnel & support agencies. 5. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. 6. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
