CentralCare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LP/VN) to provide full-time services at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a great opportunity for LP/VNs to support our military and their families as federal civilian contractors.

COMPENSATION DETAILS::
Pay: $30 hr
H&W: $5.09 hr.
PTO: 80 hours accrued annually
Sick leave: 56 hours accrued annually
Holidays: 11 paid annually
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN program or equivalent military training
- Minimum of one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years as an LPN/LVN after graduation
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license from any U.S. state or territory
Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA
- Additional Requirements (based on assignment):
- ACLS/ALS required for ER, ICU, OR, PACU, Telemetry, and sedation-related units (AHA only, no online-only certifications)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required for NICU, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, and Labor & Delivery units (no online-only certifications)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician
- Prepare patients for examinations and special procedures
- Perform Foley catheterization for adult and pediatric patients as appropriate
- Perform irrigations of eyes, ears, stomachs, abscesses, and wounds
- Perform technical procedures such as:
- NG tube insertion and maintenance
- Hickman catheter care
- IV tubing changes and dressing changes
- Perform care and maintenance of drainage tubes
- Perform suctioning of patients
- Draw lab work independently as directed
- Conduct point-of-care testing and ensure proper labeling of specimens
- Assist with specialty procedures in clinics and inpatient units
- Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records
- Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions
- Operate and maintain medical equipment including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions, including CPR and notifying RN/Physician
- May be assigned to various units including inpatient wards, specialty clinics, ICU, ER, OR, L&D, NICU, and others as needed
