Our Health Services Directors are responsible for:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hiring, training, managing, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating all Nurses and Medication Assistants.
- Determining adequate staffing levels and preparing staffing schedules using approved tools.
- Replacing absent Team Members as required per resident care and facility needs.
- Ensuring proper training and certification of all Nurses and Medication Assistants as required by state and local guidelines.
- Mentoring Team Members using electronic care systems.
- Supervising Nurses and Medication Assistants to evaluate performance on an ongoing basis to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
- Providing staff in-service training, as indicated by facility and resident needs, to ensure Team Members receive necessary training.
Administration:
- Adhering to budgetary guidelines established by the community.
- Providing the General Manager with weekly status reports on all Assisted Living residents.
- Maintaining all resident records and department documentation.
- Auditing Assisted Living services for regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring proper time clock usage and break adherence for Nurses and Medication Assistants.
- Responding quickly to all emergency situations, including:
- Assisting in fire control and resident evacuation procedures.
- Ensuring care personnel know emergency procedures.
- Performing CPR as necessary.
- Meeting continuing education requirements for state licensing/registration.
- Providing additional management reports as required.
- Ensuring work areas, including offices and medication rooms, are clean and orderly.
Other Duties:
- Other duties as assigned.
If you are someone with:
Education:
- Current LPN/LVN or RN licensure, as specified by the state agency (preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- First Aid/CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if required by state).
- Completion of required Dementia training within six months of hire date (if applicable).
Experience:
- 3 years of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in Assisted Living, geriatric nursing, or gerontology and dementia care.
- Experience in medication administration and hands-on personal care (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control.
Actual pay rate within the stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care. Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement are required throughout the workday. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
