
On Call Hospice Registered Nurse
Join our dynamic care team at Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts in Berkshire County as an On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse! This part-time position offers a stipend pay and mileage reimbursement, with a minimum of 4:30p-8a during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday, 7 on, 7 off. As a key member of our hospice care team, you will provide exceptional care to patients and their families, making a lasting difference in their lives. $175 per day.
Responsibilities:
Respond to on-call messages, making recommendations via phone and making visits as needed
Complete comprehensive assessments of patients and families to determine hospice eligibility and care needs
Provide skilled nursing care, including education and support to patients and loved ones
Complete clinical notes regarding patient condition and care given
Supervise hospice Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
Teach patients and loved ones self-care techniques as appropriate
Provide emotional support and bereavement support to patients and their families
Initiate and revise plans of care as patient status and needs change
Assess and evaluate patient status, identifying opportunities for improved care and quality of life
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current and active RN license in Massachusetts; CPR certification
1-2 years of experience in acute care, home care, or hospice preferred
Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic math skills
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
