Director of Nursing SNF – Encore at Foulk
We are currently hiring for a Director of Nursing at Encore at Foulk. This role reports directly to the Administrator and is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and strong team leadership across all shifts.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services to ensure optimal clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team across all shifts
Serve as a mentor and role model for clinical staff
Participate in organizational decision-making and committees
Clinical Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Oversee infection control, safety, and sanitation standards
Monitor and improve clinical outcomes and quality indicators
Staff Management
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluations of nursing staff
Promote staff development, engagement, and retention
Delegate responsibilities based on staff competency and resident needs
Budget & Resource Management
Manage nursing department budget and staffing levels
Monitor hours, control overtime, and address variances
Ensure proper allocation of resources to meet resident care needs
Resident Care Oversight
Ensure care plans align with physician orders and regulatory standards
Conduct regular rounds and evaluate resident care and documentation
Support resident satisfaction and quality of life initiatives
Qualifications
Licensure
Active RN license in the State of Delaware
Education
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (required)
Experience
5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care
Strong knowledge of Medicare, MDS, and regulatory compliance
Experience with EMR systems
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Ability to manage change and drive performance
Knowledge of labor relations and staffing operations
Customer-focused with commitment to quality care
Work Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
Capable of managing high-acuity environments and complex situations
Physical ability to meet job demands (standing, walking, lifting, etc.)
