Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse II (LPN II) to join our Medical-Surgical Unit on a PRN (as needed) basis. This role is ideal for a flexible, team-oriented nurse who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Position Summary
The LPN II provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or provider. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs while delivering safe, high-quality care.
Schedule
- PRN (as needed)
- Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Unit
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies within scope of practice
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; report changes promptly
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and hospital policies
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Current Florida LPN license (active and in good standing)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- IV certification (preferred or required per facility policy)
- Previous hospital or medical-surgical experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Compensation
- Competitive PRN pay rate
- Additional pay for applicable shift differentials, on-call, and certifications
(Eligible certifications may include PALS, ACLS, NIHSS, and STABLE with additional hourly pay)
