Our 22-bed MICU at Boston Children's Hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients spanning the age continuum. We manage a wide range of diagnoses, including respiratory failure & complex respiratory disease progression, septic shock, heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic crises, post-lung transplant care, and patients with chronic medical complexity. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing front-line care and coordination for complex, critically ill patients in the MICU, including assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, bedside procedures, and family-centered care.
- Collaborating and consulting with acute care providers and interdisciplinary team members on all assigned inpatients during daily rounds. Managing assigned patients throughout the course of the day.
- Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitating patient/family and multidisciplinary team education.
- Working 40 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts and a maximum of every third weekend
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience.
- 1-2 years of Pediatric acute care NP or PA experience is preferred; new graduates will also be considered with previous ICU experience.
Licensure/ Certifications:
- MA licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse PNP or FNP or Physician Assistant
