RN- Outpatient General Surgery Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. Acts as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. Educates patients and families on significant self-care issues.

The Registered Nurse position in General Surgery will have a heavy emphasis on clinical support, wound care management, medication management and phone triage. Will work to build Nurse visit patient panel

RN- Outpatient General Surgery Position Requirements

Licensed and currently registered as an RN in state of residence
Current BLS certification with American Heart Association
One to three years experience in a medical office setting preferred

Essential Functions Performs the essential job functions of the Registered Nurse job description. Participates in the interviewing and hiring of clinical staff. Coordinates and monitors orientation of new clinical associates to ensure they meet 90 day performance goals. Provides oversight of clinical staff to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed in the provision of patient care Monitors and ensures completion of annual competencies for clinical staff Serves as flow facilitator for clinical staff in the accurate and timely completion of patient care.
