Step into a dynamic and crucial role as a Registered Nurse supporting students across PreK-12 settings. Working within a district near Kansas City, MO, youll enjoy a blend of variety and autonomy, floating among schools, managing health rooms, and joining students on educational field trips. Your expertise will make a daily difference as you address a broad spectrum of pediatric health needs, ensuring students well-being and readiness to learn.

This contract position starts immediately and runs through the end of the school year, with full-time hours through May 22 and MondayThursday coverage for the Extended School Year program in June. Initial training provides a two-week onboarding period alongside experienced staff before you step confidently into independently managing a school health room.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Missouri RN licensure (current and active)
  • Previous pediatric experience essential
  • Strong multitasking and computer charting proficiency
  • Demonstrated adaptability within fast-changing school environments
  • Confident communicator comfortable floating between multiple schools and working with students from PreK to 12th grade
  • Capability to work flexible hours with schedules provided weekly (may change based on field trips or staff absences)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students across diverse grade levels and needs
  • Independently operate a school health room, including triage, routine care, and emergency response
  • Accompany students on field trips and provide 1:1 or general health room care as assigned
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records
