Overview 5 Sutherland is a general medical/surgical unit that cares for patients with renal and liver disease, and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation. Patient diagnoses can include acute kidney and liver injury to end stage disease, including dialysis and transplant. Rehabilitation patients often have a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other injury/disease requiring inpatient rehab. Patients range in age from neonates to young adult. 5 Sutherland also cares for patients with tracheostomies and other general medical/surgical patients. Qualifications Associate's Degree ADN Required. Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training or Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
