Epic Care is seeking a Certified APP (NP or PA) to work full-time alongside our dedicated team of health care professionals in our medical oncology service line. Oncology experience is preferred but not necessary, we are willing to train motivated individuals as an oncology nurse practitioner. Medical Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide hematology & medical oncology specialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient care settings.
  • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
  • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
  • Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose health issues.
  • Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.
  • Administer medicines and treatments.
  • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals, participate in tumor boards.
  • Train patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries and disease prevention.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

  • Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Appropriate degree from an accredited program.
  • Must have an active NP and PA licensure in the state of California.
  • Must have prescriptive authorization, active DEA license.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or other language is preferred.
  • Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work.
  • Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as electronic medical records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.

Job Description The Inpatient Acute Care Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join an existing team of highly skilled APPs in the care of patients requiring specialized cardiac care. Job Description UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital is recognized throughout the world as a leader in health care, known for innovation, technology and compassionate care. Our 183-bed UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital has more than 150 specialists in more than 40 areas of medicine. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring. The unit has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. More than 1,000 children per year are admitted into the intensive care units at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter and airplane from throughout the western United States. The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP) is a 18-bed unit for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, titration of anticoagulant therapy and other infusion, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery). Patients requiring respiratory support including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and patients requiring mechanical ventilation with tracheostomy in place are also routinely admitted to the TCUP. The Nurse Practitioner will act as a full member of the team taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows and residents. This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated. Nurse Practitioners on the PICU and TCUP Team provide care in rotating 12h shifts.
