Essential Job Function:

  • Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver nursing care in assigned unit to ensure that every patient receives the direct and proper care needed.
  • Analyzes patient information, including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition, to develop individualized nursing care plans.
  • Prepares nursing processes, such as medication administration and treatments to provide comprehensive and effective patient care.
  • Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Evaluates patient response to interventions and identifies any additional interventions needed to meet defined goals of care.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective care planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.


Experience:

  • Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse.
  • Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.


Licensure/Certification/Listing:

  • Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.

UNC Hillsborough Hospital is a 160-bed community hospital with a robust surgical program, featuring 8 operating rooms (including 2 robotic ORs) and 3 procedural suites. Our perioperative services include 16 Preop roomettes, 12 PACU Phase I bays, 6 Phase II bays on the main campus, and 8 prep/hold bays in our Medical Office Building to support procedural care. We provide comprehensive surgical care across multiple specialties, including an Orthopedic Center of Excellence for Total Joints, Sports Orthopedics, Foot & Ankle, Ortho & Neuro Spine, general surgery, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and gastroenterology. Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities: 1. Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. With assistance, uses patient education materials relevant to patient population. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers.
