Position Summary

Advanced Practice Provider specializing in comprehensive women's health care, including the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders affecting women such as abnormal uterine bleeding, enlarged fibroid uterus, infertility, and abnormal pap smears. This APP also provides care throughout adulthood including pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, and beyond.Responsibilities • Provide prenatal and postpartum care and support. • Conduct routine exams such as pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams • Consultation and treatment related to irregular menses, hormone disorders, fertility and family planning, sexual transmitted disease and menopausal related conditions. • Referral to other OB/GYN physicians and/or healthcare specialists for additional diagnosis, health related screenings, and further evaluation-based treatment. • Prescribe and administer medications or therapies to treat disease or injury. • Order radiologic imaging or labs as indicated. • Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Requirements • Completion of accredited NP, PA-C, or CNM program • Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment • Must maintain active ARNP, PA-C, or CNM licensure throughout employment • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association. • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills. • Compassionate bedside manner and ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $163,000.00 - $171,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.

This provider would round on low-risk postpartum patients, provide discharge counseling, lactation support and assist with care coordination and decision making for the postpartum management of hypertensive disorders, diabetes, or other medical conditions. The Fred Hutch Gastroenterology Service is one of the few gastroenterology consultant practices in the country embedded within a NCI-recognized Comprehensive Cancer Center, with a diverse practice including prevention, diagnosis and endoscopic therapy of GI cancers, comprehensive screening programs for familial GI cancers, evaluation and management of GI and liver diseases arising in patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplants, chemo-, radio- and immune-oncology therapies, and consultation for general GI and liver conditions in the Fred Hutch oncology and benign hematology populations. Responsibilities The Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (1.0 FTE) provides care for oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting. This individual will be a member of the GI consult service that sees all Fred Hutch patients at the Sloan SLU outpatient ambulatory facility. They will work with the GI physicians and GI clinic nurse. Primary responsibilities include initial evaluation, physical examinations, development of a treatment plan, progress notes, and ongoing follow up of patients on whom a GI consult has been requested, either in person or by telemedicine. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Perform initial consultations for GI referrals for conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional and uninvestigated dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, functional constipation, chronic diarrhea, peptic ulcer disease, uncomplicated hemorrhoids, anal fissures, colorectal cancer screening, MASLD with FIB-4 < 1.3, mildly elevated transaminases, and chronic hepatitis B. Perform initial consultations for referrals requesting GI procedures (colonoscopy, EGD) to assess suitability for moderate vs general sedation and review prep with patient. See return visits to the GI clinic for follow-up after initial consultation. Perform point-of-care Fibroscans in clinic for determination of liver and splenic stiffness in patients with suspected portal hypertension. To be considered for the role, please apply at the following link: Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an ARNP/PA for full-time (1.0) at the rank of Teaching Associate. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The ARNP/PA is a member of the inter-professional gastroenterology and hepatology team that includes attending physicians, gastroenterology and hepatology trainees, multidisciplinary specialists (social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, psychiatrists) , other physician assistants, and nurse practitioners providing care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. A successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The positions will provide clinical services at the UWMC-Montlake with a focus in Hepatology and Transplant Hepatology. Duties will include providing hepatology consultative services for outpatients including General Hepatology, Transplant Hepatology and Liver Tumor clinics. The hepatology team includes attending physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, as well as clinic staff including nurses and medical assistants.
