JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) / LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN), REGISTERED NURSE (RN), REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (RMA)

SHIFT: PRN As Needed

CMA/RN/LPN, Current BLS or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.  OB/GYN experience is a plus, but not required.  Position consists of both clerical and clinical duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or medical assistant program.
  • Current RN/LPN license in the State of Indiana. Certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant.
  • Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
  • Has been educated in basic pharmacology and the administration of medications.
  • CPR provider certification within 6 months.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process. Performs patient access functions.

  • Proficient in EPIC including retrieving patient records, entering patient data (e-form) and locking record.
  • Greets patients on arrival.
  • Registers and enters patient data into the Health Information system. Scans insurance card information.
  • Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.
  • Performs procedure set-up and assists provider as indicated.
  • Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient’s chart.
  • Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.
  • Schedules surgeries or referrals as ordered, attain prior authorizations for surgeries when needed, provides patient education and instruction information.
  • Familiar with policies in Policystat, including nursing, registration and disaster policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
