You will serve as a Certified School Nurse (CSN), responsible for overseeing all aspects of the health office, completing thorough medical reviews, and actively participating in IEP and 504 meetings as a collaborative team member. Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current RN license in Illinois (unrestricted)
- Certification or eligibility as a Certified School Nurse (CSN)
- Prior experience in a school nursing, pediatric, or public health setting preferred
- Familiarity with IEP/504 processes and student support services
- Proficiency in conducting detailed medical reviews and recordkeeping
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong commitment to student health, wellness, and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the daily operations of the health office, addressing both routine and urgent student health needs
- Conduct comprehensive medical reviews to support students’ educational plans
- Serve as an active participant and valuable resource in IEP and 504 meetings
- Provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and perform required health screenings
- Coordinate care with staff, families, and community providers
- Document health records accurately and maintain compliance with school policies
