Position Overview
As the Staff Development Coordinator, you will oversee all aspects of nursing education, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing staff development. This role plays a critical part in ensuring new hires are properly trained and current staff remain compliant, confident, and successful in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead nursing orientation for new hires
- Provide ongoing education, skills training, and competency evaluations
- Track and maintain required certifications, education records, and in-services
- Develop and implement training programs based on facility and regulatory needs
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company education requirements
- Partner with nursing leadership on performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with survey preparedness and clinical education compliance
- Support employee engagement, retention, and clinical excellence initiatives
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in North Carolina
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Previous leadership, training, or staff development experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in staff development or infection prevention
- Knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process
- Experience conducting in-services and competency evaluations
