Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the overall clinical operations of the community to ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality, and individualized care.
This role partners closely with the Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director to oversee resident wellness, clinical compliance, medication management, staff support, and day-to-day nursing operations while helping maintain a positive and resident-focused environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced senior living environment and is passionate about mentoring staff, supporting residents, and maintaining high standards of care.
Responsibilities
Assist with oversight of daily clinical operations and resident care services
Support resident assessments, care plans, and wellness monitoring
Assist with medication management and clinical documentation processes
Help supervise, mentor, and support caregiving and medication staff
Monitor resident condition changes and communicate appropriately with physicians and families
Support staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and training efforts
Ensure compliance with state regulations, company policies, and clinical standards
Assist with survey readiness and quality assurance initiatives
Promote resident dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and department leaders
Qualifications
Active LPN/LVN or RN license in good standing
Minimum 1–2 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Assisted living, memory care, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of resident care, medication management, and regulatory compliance
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
