As a Full-Time Registered Nurse in Occupational Health, you’ll provide high-quality, employee-focused care at our on-site Health Center in Middletown, CT.

This role offers a consistent second-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM—ideal for nurses who prefer later start times, want daytime flexibility, or aren’t fans of early mornings.

You’ll work independently in a highly autonomous role, managing daily clinic operations while supporting employee health and safety in a professional, low-stress environment. This position also offers a predictable schedule and strong work-life balance.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
  • Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
  • Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
  • Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
  • Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
  • Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
  • Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
  • Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
  • Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
  • Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
  • Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
  • Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
  • At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
  • Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams
